Welcome Parham!
Parham is a postdoctoral research fellow in Prof. Nico Voelcker’s group. He is currently working
on porous silicon micro/nano-carriers as long-acting delivery systems for therapeutic proteins
and peptides, with applications in the treatment of chronic/infected/diabetic wounds and diabetes
in collaboration with MCN, UniSA and St Vincent's Institute of Medical Research.
Parham completed his PhD from Monash Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MIPS), Faculty
of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at Monash University where he developed long-acting
subcutaneous formulations for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. He has gained expertise in
optimizing porous silicon micro/nano-particles, surface chemistry modifications of nanocarriers,
and in vitro assays/models and conducting animal trials for assessing protein and peptide-based
formulations such as their in vitro and in vivo therapeutic efficacy and pharmacokinetics. He
completed his MSc in nanomaterials engineering from Sharif University of technology and BSc
in Materials Engineering from Sahand University of Technology. He was a research assistant at
Research Center for Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology (RCPN) at Tabriz University of Medical
Sciences (2016-2017) and Iran University of Medical Science (2015-2017).
